A monthly global ranking that enables you to understand how your nation stacks up if it comes to internet speed.

The Global Index compiles data from the billions of examinations on consumers run on the service and gives both mobile and fixed broadband rates from throughout the world. Set to be renewed monthly, each country’s ranking reveals both its normal download speed, as well as any variation in rank from the prior month. Click through on an own country, and view both its medium download and upload speed.

Speedtest’s blog appears to show that charts tracking performance will also look on individual country pages as regularly reports continue to publish, allowing people to “uncover courses and detect potential storylines.”

This is absolutely not the only internet speed ranking, but it is fun to see how nations move up and down the tables. Cyprus, for example, went up a whopping 21 positions in mobile ranking from last month’s data to number 35, while France went down five positions in the same chart to number 37. If you’re questioning how the US fares… it down at number 46 for mobile under Montenegro, Sweden, and Hungary, and at number nine for broadband. Only three nations appear in the top 10 for both classes: Singapore, South Korea, and Iceland.
