Fazny website has been seized by the Canadian police for stealing customers’ Card Data, Fazny.ca is an online electronics shop that took customers’ payment card data and used it to make fraudulent purchases.
The Canadian police said that the investigators received a complaint that private financial data had been stolen and fraudulently used to make purchases.
As the user attempted to make a purchase from the website, they received a number of errors showing that the payment couldn’t be processed, and afterward, they noticed suspicious purchases on financial statements. Investigators specified the complainant’s data had been stolen on the website, which used advertisements on the popular social network Facebook to bring customers.
The police also said that the site reportedly sold computer accessories but its images and product information were copied from true online shops. After a court of law order, the CIRA (Canadian Internet Registration Authority), which controls the .CA domain on behalf of Canadians, enabled officers to seize the domain and redirect it to a server that is managed by police.
The Canadian police are requesting anyone who has information about this issue to call Edmonton police or Crime Stoppers.
