A List of Maximum Prison Sentences For Each Country

I have compiled a list in ascending order showing the maximum sentences for computer hacking in a few countries:

Sweden – 2 Years prison
India – 3 Years prison
Estonia – 5 Years prison
Italy – 6 Years prison
Netherlands – 6 years prison
Norway – 6 Years prison
UK – 10 Years prison (could be changed to life)
Australia – 10 Years prison
Canada – 15 Years prison
USA – 30 Years prison

In France, the sentence for piracy and hacking is up to 2 years imprisonment. However, if you have been phishing or stealing banking card details in the process, or so, you would be prosecuted for that specific offense and might get sentenced up to 7 years in prison... Finally, hacking a governmental website (such as the tax administration, the police or army...) is considered as a crime and can potentially get you life in jail. In a word: it depends on what you hack!

In Pakistan: Whoever commits the offence of cyber terrorism and causes death of any person shall be punishable with death or imprisonment for life, and with line and in any other case he shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, or with fine not less than ten million rupees, or with both.

Belgium: Life sentence but with some law called law lejeunen one may ask for releasy as from 15 years in jail...
