Hivemapper Keeps Your Drone Safe From Danger

Hivemapper, a startup that helps drone pilots to avoid crashing their drones into buildings. It includes over 20 million building boundaries at launch, but only 1/2 of those has the height of the building. 15 million points of interest and 10K of no-fly zones in the U.S.

Hivemapper alerts drone pilots when you get too close to a building, even if your camera is not facing them.

According to Hivemapper CEO, “It’s hard to imagine driving in a new place without GoogleMaps, Apple Maps or some other navigation system today”

Hivemapper takes the video signal from your drone and superimposes onto it details of buildings and points of interest nearby.

Hivemapper works on the software platform of DJI. You can download and install Hivemapper for free. It is available for Android, for iOS you can signup for a mail alert to know when it launches
