A 21 year-old man has been arrested in the United Kingdom as part of a cyber-crime probe into a computer hack at children’s electronic toymaker VTech, police said.
According to the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit said in a statement that,“unauthorized access to a computer to facilitate the commission of an offense,” and of “causing a computer to perform a function to secure/enable unauthorised access to a program/data”.
On November, VTech, a Hong-Kong based company, said that their store database was hacked.
Database contained all the users information such as emails, names, addresses, encrypted passwords, secret questions and answers for passwords, IP addresses and download histories. While no credit card information was stolen
Almost 6.4 million children’s profile and about 4.9 million parents account was breached in the November attack.
The data was accessed via VTech’s Learning Lodge database, where users download games, e-book and applications.
