Every group has drama in it, and dangerous black hat hackers turned federal agents are no different. It just so happened that this drama involved extreme manipulation and deceit at N3URO’s expense.
In March 2016, after feverishly researching the Dark Fantasy Network, N3URO was finally presented with the possibility of getting more information.
“In March of 2016 I got a email from [XXX] asking me if I was interested in CSS. I said yes. Then in April, I was in contact with DarkFantasy [through a chat room], then before Dark Fantasy gave me the instructions for access, [XXX] entered the chat room.
He said that there were 6 million ways to die, and then DarkFantasy left the chat and [XXX] said ‘his head’s on the table’. Then after a long apology to [XXX] for talking to DaFy, he decided to forgive me. Then he disappeared…
And the last email I got from [XXX] was in December, when he told me DarkestDepth was a forum. Then in March I talked to V3RDAD. And in May. This was [XXX]’s way of trying to end the game, but V3RDAD dragged it on and here we are.”
Over the course of his involvement, N3URO participated in advertising the urban legend as if it were fact. He posted parts of the puzzle without even realizing it.
The last time N3URO spoke to V3RDAD, he asked when he’d be granted access to the Dark Fantasy Network. V3RDAD responded, saying he’d give him access. Despite never receiving a follow-up email, N3URO no longer cares (thanks to me…and I guess [XXX]).

Also, [XXX] claims that Cicada 3301 is a federal recruitment program for hackers and cryptographers. Apparently, this was also already said on the internet.
