NSA has opened a Github account with 32 projects

NSA is a national-level intelligence agency of the United States Department of Defense, under the authority of the Director of National Intelligence.

The NSA regularly works in secret, but it started opening itself to the world after Edward Snowden leaks in 2013. The Agency has joined Twitter in the same year after Edward leaks and now opened a Github account.

GitHub is a web-based Git or version control repository and Internet hosting service. It is mostly used for code. It offers all of the distributed version control and source code management functionality of Git as well as adding its own features.

The GitHub account contains a list of 32 various open-source projects developed by the developers of the Agency whose code repositories have been distributed under the NSA Technology Transfer Program (TTP).

“THE TECHNOLOGIES LISTED BELOW were developed within the National Security Agency (NSA) and are now available to the public via Open Source Software (OSS). The NSA Technology Transfer Program (TTP) works with agency innovators who wish to use this collaborative model for transferring their technology to the commercial marketplace. “

Some of the projects were existing on the Internet many years ago, the SELinux (Security-Enhanced Linux) has been a component of the Linux kernel for years.
