FCC decided this year to roll back Net Neutrality to considerably less resistance observed in previous efforts.  Despite a passionate tech community voicing affair, very few people appeared able to muster up enough interest to oppose this decision.

And of course, there is also regularly the chance that no matter how many people fought back, back once enough Net Neutrality opponents have the upper-hand, they would have too critical control over the decision, and they were going to as the time passes they are going to vote for the rollbacks no matter how much resistance they faced, even with recent governmental concern being voiced earlier this week.

To get a general sense of the public’s awareness of the new Net Neutrality decision, News has started a survey of US citizens on Net Neutrality and said that a majority of Americans:

  1. Aren’t really sure what Net Neutrality is
  2. We’re not aware that the FCC rolled it back

72% OF US CITIZENS DO NOT KNOW WHAT NET NEUTRALITY IS

72% told they do not understand what Net Neutrality is, further more 22% who said they do. Despite the tech New Channels continuous coverage of the rollbacks, it didn’t seem to get the attention of many citizens, leading to what seems to be a knowledge inequality among the general population and decision makers.

81% OF US CITIZENS DID NOT KNOW THE FCC VOTED TO ROLL BACK NET NEUTRALITY

Even fewer are aware that the FCC voted in May to roll back Net Neutrality regulations, with 81% of customers answered that they were not known there was a vote at all. 15% said they heard that a vote had taken place.

While of course, this recent rollback vote was a shiver for many businesses to Net Neutrality, there are still many of ways in which the average Joe can help spread the word.
