Woz U, A New Technology Education platform started by Steve Wozniak

According to the statement, Woz U will begin as an online learning program focused on both students and companies that will ultimately hire those students. Woz U is based out of Arizona and hopes to start physical locations for getting in more than 30 cities across the globe.

At launch, the curriculum will gather around computer support professionals and software developers, with sessions on data science, mobile applications and cybersecurity occurring in the future.

Alongside the training platform, Woz U will also offer programs for tech companies to recruit, train and retain their workforce through on-site customized plans and subscription-based curricula. There also will be a program for K-12 students, which will be scattered to school districts, that will offer STEAM details to identify talent and nudge those people into a tech-based career.

And if that weren’t acceptable, Woz U will eventually include an accelerator program “to identify and acquire elite tech talent.”

Here’s something Woz had to say in a ready statement:

Our goal is to educate and guide people in employable digital skills without placing them into years of debt. People often are shocked to choose a technology-based career because they assume they can’t do it. I know they can, and I want to explain them how. My entire life I have achieved to build, develop and create a better world by technology and I have always valued education. Now is the time for Woz U, and we are only getting started.

Woz U will offer an app to help people know which field of tech they’re best accommodated for, so they can set up their curriculum accordingly.
