Donald Trump’s Twitter account has been deactivated by a Twitter employee

A rogue Twitter employee deactivated President Trump’s personal Twitter account (@realdonaldtrump) on his last day as a customer support rep for the social network.

The account has been disappeared from the website for around 11 minutes. It’s not clear what occurred to the account, and Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Twitter first blamed “human error,” then said that a rogue employee who used their last day on the job to deactivate the Twitter account.

According to Twitter:
“Earlier today @realdonaldtrump’s account was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee. The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored.”

“Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day.”

Trump also said:
“My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee. I guess the word must finally be getting out-and having an impact.”

There have been ongoing requests for Twitter to ban Trump’s account, especially when he made warnings to North Korea. But, when Twitter does this it usually marks the profile with the message “account suspended”.
