Hounddawgs.org – a Denmark based torrent tracker – encountered serious issues lately.

Out of the blue , a message initiated by an anonymous entity appearing on the site stating that the site had been hacked.

The message was sent to around 40,000 visitors. Post the message, the website went out before coming back live again with the administration blaming competitors for trying to pull cheap tricks.

According to the administrator, its competitors were trying to steal its customers by getting access to data and putting the site off.

In spite of the operator’s encouraging explanation, it was disclosed that a segmented edited file with IPs ,emails and usernames began to circulate. While the team at hounddawgs.org declined breach of data, the hackers soon released over 20GB of data including private information proving the administrators to be lying.

The leaked file contains databases which seem to be legitimate. On this, the administrators said, “

“It has NEVER been our intention to hurt any of you, and we were very happy with all the good users we had. We chose to close the site as a precaution, but unfortunately too late,”

The administration accused competitors, but no one has taken the responsibility of the hack so far.

Presently, the web address redirects to https://infinity-t.org, which has also been under an attack. The administrators have taken the website down indefinitely, and we are not sure when it will be back, if ever.
