If your using hoverboards in New York then get ready to pay fine of $200. Yes, using hoverboards is illegal in New York.

According to a tweet by NYPD 26th Precinct in Twitter, tweeted out Monday that electric hoverboards is illegal as per NYC admin.

“Be advised that the electric #hoverboard is illegal as per NYC Admin. Code 19-176.2 #Morningside #Harlen #Christmas”

The tweet was later deleted because it contained the wrong code. But still there was a lot of confusion over this. To be in safer side, it’s better not to use hoverboards on streets of New York and pay fine upto $200. Keep using hoverboards at the park and at home.
