How to download and install Android 7.0 Nougat

Android 7.0 Nougat is current latest version in android platform. Few Nexus devices, such as Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, General Mobile 4G, Nexus Player, Nexus 9 or Pixel C can be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat via OTA (Over-the-air) which is the easiest way to update device system.

This is the easiest way to download and install Android 7.0 Nougat. Just follow the simple steps given below to receive the update.

Step 1: Open Settings > About > System updates.
Step 2: Tap Check for updates.

If your system supports Android 7.0 Nougat, then it will show up here, you can download and install Android 7.0 Nougat on your devices. If it doesn’t show up then follow the other steps given below.

 

How to download and install Android 7.0 Nougat via Android Beta Program

 

Note: Before trying out this method, make sure you take a backup of your Android device. This method will install a preview version and you could lose data or apps could stop working.

Step 1: Visit g.co/androidbeta on your mobile/desktop.
Step 2: Sign into your Google account linked with Nexus device.
Step 3: Scroll down and click Enrol Device. Once done, click Settings > About > System updates.
Step 4: Now you’ll see details about the update with build name. Build name is NRD90M for Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, and Nexus 9 (Wi-Fi). If your device starts with NP, it’s a preview build and you don’t install it.
Step 5: Next, if you want to remove the beta program, go to g.co/androidbeta sign in and click Unenrol Device. You can’t use this option if your already in 7.0 version.
