A shooting incident recently occured in San Bruno’s at Youtube headquarters where several people were injured. Amidst the shooting, someone hacked Vadim Lavursik’s Twitter account somehow and tweeted “Please help my friend, I lost him in the shooting.”

Vadim is a Youtube manager and was found to be locked up in one of the rooms with coworkers when the incident took place but later on succeeded at fleeing the scene.

Many celebrities and politicians also commented on the matter, including President Trump.

More Hoax Tweets

When this fake news was not enough, the hacker posted a picture of Sam Hyde, a Youtube celebrity, suggesting that he was the culprit.

The news took a bad turn when people began sharing this false news and it was all over social media.

The hackers even forged fake photos on Photoshop which claimed that Sam was behind the incident.

Anita Sarkeesian was also brought into the mix and hoax news of her being the shooter was also circulating.

Who Was The Real Shooter?

Police suspected the shooter to be a female. They further added that the woman involved died as a result of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

The Bottomline

This proves that hackers can go to any length to either steal something or degrade someone. Vadim’s false tweets were deleted. Twitter’s CEO also commented on the matter and adding the company would help the police find the hacker.
